THE ISLE OF WIGHT SCHOOLS’ FORUM

Please note:

Due to workloads and time restraints on attendees, it has been agreed that the Schools Forum Meeting for 27 November should be cancelled. The next meeting will be held on 11 December at Medina High School @ 9.00am.

Any papers for submission to the planning committee should be sent for receipt by Wednesday 3 December at the latest.

The Schools Forum exists to provide detailed scrutiny and recommendations concerning:

The budget making process of the Council
The schools’ funding formula
The nature, value and efficiency of schools’ contracts or service level agreements with private providers and the LA
Arrangements made for the education of pupils with Special Educational Needs
Arrangements for the use of pupil referral units and the education of children otherwise than at school
Arrangements for early years education
Arrangements for insurance
Administrative arrangements for the allocation of central government grants via the LA
Arrangements for school meals

In summary, the Schools Forum is concerned with all matters of a financial nature as they affect schools.

Membership of the Schools Forum comprises representatives from schools, both headteachers and governors, the two dioceses and Early Years
