What should I expect?

learnerentitlementINTRO00

The Isle of Wight Council, all of the Island high schools, work-based learning providers and the Isle of Wight College are working together to help every young person on the Island reach their full potential. In doing so, we are working hard to ensure that you have access to high quality learning that meets high national standards and suits your interests and abilities.

As a young person on the Island, you should expect:-

  • A positive and inspiring learning environment
  • An enjoyable and motivating learning experience
  • A range of high quality resources
  • A broad and flexible curriculum open to all learners
  • Positive progression from one level to the next
  • Success on your chosen course

Within this framework you are also have certain entitlements concerning your place of learning, your teachers, tutors or trainers, the information you receive, and the way in which you learn and receive support. In return your place of learning has expectations of the way that you behave and work.
