Leisure & Tourism Leisure & Recreation - Post 16 | | Schools and colleges offer a variety of advanced level courses. You will usually be able to choose from:
- general AS and A level (GCE);
- vocational AS and A level (VCE);
- other vocational qualifications, such as the BTEC National Diploma or NVQs.
| | | Are you interested in a career in travel? Have you considered working in the hotel industry? Perhaps the idea of being employed in a leisure centre, a theme park, travel agency or the entertainment industry appeals? If so one of these courses could be what you are looking for!
Leisure and Tourism courses study the industry in depth. Much of the course is built on practical experience and understanding the main business concepts such as marketing, finance and information systems. Knowledge of Health & Safety and other legislation relevant to the Leisure & Tourism industry is acquired; practical topics include customer service, as well as organising and running an event. The whole course involves students in working both independently on research projects and in groups visiting facilities and giving presentations. By the end of the course students will be competent in communication, information technology and number. Work experience is an integral part of all courses.
